About me

Hello!

My name is Maxime (28), I'm a French data analyst currently working in scientific research, processing data and performing statistical analyses. I studied mathematics applied to the social sciences, with a focus on demography — which gave me a solid foundation in statistics, data wrangling, and visualization.

About the website

Sport with R was born in 2023 from a growing fascination with data visualization. Inspired by the work of talented people like Tanya Shapiro, Cédric Scherer, and many others, I wanted to create my own space to share sport dataviz made with the R language.
The website now features over 20 visualizations covering ⚽️ football, 🎾 tennis, and other sports. When possible, I share the R code alongside each post so you can explore the process behind the graphs.
Beyond sport, I occasionally publish posts on other data-related projects — like automating tasks with R for my job research.
A note on reading comfort: the visualizations are best viewed on a computer screen for optimal size and color accuracy.
