High Jump records

Hello,

Welcome to this second post 'Other themes' ! I continue on my way to fill out this section. For better visibility, I advise you to look at my posts on a computer (for the size but also because the colors differ on a phone that has a dark theme like me. If the theme is light, only the size makes it difficult to read).

I was recently thinking about how time influences the evolution of the level of sporting performance. And I came to a first conclusion (maybe wrong...), that it depends on whether the sport in question needs specific equipment or not, and where the evolution of the quality of the latter differs with the passage of time (technological progress).
To illustrate this point, I decided to make a graph on the high jump. Indeed...the only equipment the athlete needs is a pair of shoes. Although...I imagine that the shoes are of better quality over time, I don't think that it has a lot of influence on performance in this sport.

Well...I'll let you see the graph for yourself to find out if the recent shoes have helped break the records.

The records clearly hold ! And they're starting to date back a long time.

Although recent performances (especially among women) come very close to the record, we see that the 2 athletes from the previous century have set the bar high! (Do you get the joke...?๐Ÿ˜’)

Thanks for reading ! I hope it was clear and you liked it.
